Iran complains: Israel also has nuclear weapons, why are we the only ones

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has sharply criticized the way Israel and Iran are being treated on the issue of nuclear weapons.

Pezeshkian said that Israel has nuclear weapons but is not a party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). According to him, while Israel is not required to allow inspections, Iran is required to open its doors to international inspectors.

"They have nuclear weapons, we are sanctioned and punished ," Pezeshkian said.

The Iranian president also spoke about the war in Gaza, accusing Israel of killing more than 70,000 Palestinians. He said Iran was negotiating when it was hit.

Pezeshkian's statements come at a time of high tensions in the Middle East, as international debates continue over Iran's nuclear program and sanctions against Tehran.
