The head of Greek diplomacy, Jorgo Gjerapetriri, stated today that his country does not plan to participate in supporting security guarantees for Ukraine, calling the situation a "geopolitical auction and opportunism".
Geriatric stated "it is positive that there is mobility and visibility for the next steps with a possible meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, as well as that the United States intends to support Ukraine's security guarantees".
"Greece, as a principled position, will insist on its basic position on the universal application of International Law and the inviolability of the borders of each state," he noted.
"We will not prioritize any transitory transactional benefit over the post-war security architecture shaped by international law, by participating in a geopolitical auction," he added.
"If international law is abandoned today in favor of a transactional foreign policy, how, in fact, can we call it a means of resolving disputes on key national issues? Foreign policy requires knowledge and reflection and not superficiality and opportunism", concluded Mr. Gerapetritis.
