German police have strengthened security for the Bayern-Dortmund match after the terror alert.
Specifically, as Deutsche Welle reports, the police in the German city of Munich have deployed more police officers for the security of the Allianz Arena during the Bundesliga match between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
The increased security presence comes after police were informed on Friday that several images were circulating on social media that appeared to show a target set on spectators outside the stadium.
The image is believed to have been created by the terrorist group ISIS-K, an offshoot of the so-called Islamic State based in Afghanistan. The group claimed responsibility for last weekend's deadly attack at a music hall outside Moscow.
A spokesman for the Munich police department told the German news agency dpa that they intensively evaluated the photo on Friday night together with the regional criminal investigation department and concluded that there were no concrete signs of danger.
For a game of this importance, 300 to 500 policemen would normally have to be deployed. "We are now increasing that number," the police spokesman said.
German Interior Minister Nancy Feiser said earlier this week that Germany will introduce temporary controls at all its borders for Euro 2024 after the terrorist attack in Moscow.
