Finland seeks NATO, Russian official: We eliminate it in 10 seconds
Zyrtari rus, Aleksey Zhuravlyov

A senior Russian official has threatened that with the nuclear weapons at Russia's disposal, it could "flatten" Finland in 10 seconds.

The head of the Defense Committee, Aleksey Zhuravlyov, made these statements a few days after Finland announced that it would apply to join NATO.

"If Finland wants to join this bloc (NATO), then we will question the existence of this country. It's perfectly logical. If the US threatens our state, we have Sarmat (Satan-2 missile). Finland is saying it's with the US. Let's get in the queue then. "The Finns should be grateful to Russia for the state they have, for the fact that Finland exists as a state," Zhuravlyov said.

When asked if Russia would deploy nuclear weapons on the border with Finland, he replied: "Why should it? We do not need. We can launch the missile from Siberia and it can reach England, in 200 seconds it goes. It goes to Finland in 10 seconds.

The Russian official further underlined that it is America that is pushing Finland: “The Finns take from us 90% of gas and many other things. Who needs war? The Finns are not afraid of being attacked by Russia. America is pushing them, just as it is pushing Ukraine, just as it is trying to do with Poland and Romania. "And the facts show that America is achieving its goals."
