The European authorities have recently legalized the consumption of two insects, where, in addition to their use in restaurants, they have also allowed their sale in markets.

Apparently, the menus of European restaurants will no longer contain only steak, chops and fish, but also dishes with shrimps and cockroaches.

On the morning of January 24, the European Commission has legalized the use of insects for consumption. The European Food Agency has stated that many citizens may view the decision with skepticism, but that instead of thinking about the taste, they should think about the benefits they will get from their consumption.

To begin with, the Agency has legalized only 4 types of insects for supermarkets in Europe, while restaurants will use the house locust (Acheta domesticus) for consumption as well as the mealworm (Alphitobius diaperinus).

According to the European Food Agency, these are insects that offer many benefits to the human body and have a high protein content.
