Vucic: We risk isolation if we do not accept the Franco-German plan

In a speech addressed to the Serbian people, President Aleksandër Vucic gave details about the meeting he recently held with the representatives of the USA, EU, France, Germany and Italy on the issue of Kosovo and the normalization of relations.

The Serbian leader stated that in this meeting Serbia was given an ultimatum to accept the Franco-German plan, otherwise it will face very harsh consequences.

" In the second sentence I was told that you must accept this plan. In case of non-acceptance, Serbia will face: interruption of integration processes, interruption and withdrawal of investments and comprehensive political and economic measures that will harm Serbia ", said Vucic.

Describing the talks as very difficult, he said that in case of rejection, the visa-free travel regime could be removed in a few days.

The Franco-German plan was submitted to authorities in Pristina and Belgrade at the end of the summer and is supported by France, Germany and the US.

The plan, to which REL had access, foresees equal rights for Kosovo and Serbia, respect for territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, recognition of state symbols and a special arrangement for the Serbian community in Kosovo.

The document does not mention mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia or Kosovo's membership in the United Nations Organization.
