A 39-year-old Albanian man was arrested by Greek police after being declared wanted and an international arrest warrant was also issued against him, on behalf of Belgium.
Greek police announced that the arrested person is Osmen Hoxha, a resident of the center of Fier.
The neighboring country's media reports that his arrest was carried out by police officers from the Narcotics Sub-Directorate of the Organized Crime Directorate of the Greek police.
The arrest warrant related to Hoxha's involvement in a criminal organization based in Belgium, which is suspected of being active in importing large quantities of cocaine from South America to European countries, as well as in cultivating marijuana plantations and operating drug processing and reformulation plants abroad.
This is an action where in September 2024, a container containing 500 kilograms of cocaine was seized in the port of Antwerp, Belgium.
The arrested Albanian has been sent to the competent Public Prosecutor's Office, where a detention order has been issued, while the investigation into the case continues.
