Young Albanian caught with 23 thousand euros and cocaine in Italy

A 21-year-old Albanian man was arrested in Bologna by Italian police on charges of cocaine trafficking, while during the search, in addition to the quantity of drugs, 23 thousand euros in cash were found on him.

The operation was carried out in the "Panigale" neighborhood, where the young man was spotted making suspicious movements. The investigative unit decided to subject him to a physical check and the carabinieri stopped him. He mainly moved around using an electric bicycle, with which he also delivered goods to users.

After being located, the 21-year-old showed signs of aggression and nervousness in the eyes of the law enforcement officers. He was subjected to a personal search. During the search, the carabinieri found 18 packages of cocaine hidden in his pockets, along with 450 euros in cash.

The suspect, an unemployed man, was unable to provide a credible explanation regarding the source of the money.

The search operations then continued at a nearby apartment, which was found to be occupied by the 21-year-old. Inside the house, officers discovered and seized 22,410 euros in banknotes of various denominations, believed to be the proceeds of drug trafficking.

Narcotics were also seized as evidence, while investigations are continuing to uncover the network of collaborators, Italian media reports.

By order of the Public Prosecutor in charge at the Bologna Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspected perpetrator of the crime was sent to the Court of Bologna, for an expedited process.

However, the hearing was initially postponed and then the security measure was relaxed, allowing the Albanian to be pursued at large.
