A total of 4,500 files have been handed over to the Greek authorities by Europol regarding communications on the encrypted platforms "Sky ECC" and "Encrochat" developed in Greek territory.
The news was made public by the Greek newspaper "Ta NEA", according to which it is expected to shed light on issues related to murders, drugs, weapons, fines and trafficking of illegal immigrants.
In these 4,500 files, according to the same sources, there are about 25,000 messages exchanged between criminal figures, where a significant portion is occupied by Albanians.
The investigation is complex and lengthy, as in the case of the crackdown on an Albanian-Greek drug trafficking group, for which about 9 months of investigations were conducted that ended with dozens of arrests a few days ago.
Meanwhile, “Kathimerini” has also managed to obtain photographs exchanged during communications in an investigated file, which led to the arrest of a Greek police officer and two drug traffickers, one Albanian and one Greek. One of the photos shows a letter where several phone numbers are recorded that were intercepted by the anti-drugs, which the police officer sends to “Sky ECC” one of the traffickers, to protect him from any possible involvement in the investigation. Other photos include quantities of drugs seized by the police, one of which belongs to a large shipment of marijuana, which from the packaging appears to be of Albanian production.
