Mexico has been shocked by the details of the brutal murder of a woman by her 32-year-old husband, who after killing her, then ate her brain and burned her skull.

Alvaro, the name of the killer, who was arrested on July 2, was allegedly under the influence of drugs when he killed the mother of five on June 29. During the police interrogation, the 32-year-old claimed that the order for his crime was given by "the devil" and "Santa Muerte".

It was he himself who revealed his brutal crime with a phone call to one of his daughters.

"He took one of the girls and told her to go get his mother because 'I killed her and put her in the bags,'" said the victim's mother. According to her, the 32-year-old dismembered her daughter's body with a machete, a hammer: "I took her crying and asked her why she did this to her. My child was not a bad person."

The attacker allegedly told the 32-year-old mother that her daughter "made" her suffer.

The woman's family complains that the 32-year-old raped and sexually abused the five children between the ages of 12 and 23, consumed large amounts of alcohol and was addicted to drugs.
