Ukraine may export 3 million tons of grain from its ports in September and in the future may be able to export 4 million per month, Ukraine's Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yuriy Vaskov said on Tuesday.

He said that Ukraine has received applications for 30 ships that would export grain in the next two weeks.

Moscow and Kiev reached an agreement last month to restore grain exports. The agreement was reached under the mediation of Turkey and the UN and was aimed at unlocking three Ukrainian ports, which have been blocked since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

The agreement calls for an international team, made up of officials from Turkey, the UN, Russia and Ukraine to oversee inspections and the passage of ships through the Bosphorus.

Last week, the total number of ships transporting Ukrainian grain had reached 16, writes REL.
