US President Donald Trump said he has no intention of making a ceasefire with Iran. Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, Trump continued his criticism of NATO allies for not joining in the effort to open the Strait of Hormuz.

"I don't want to make a ceasefire. There's no ceasefire when you're wiping out the other side," Trump said.

He also explained what is happening on the battlefield. "We are hitting them hard, I don't think you can hit an adversary harder than that. They are thugs, animals and terrible people," Trump said, referring to the Iranian regime.

Asked if Israel would be ready to stop the war when America was ready, Trump said: " I think so. We want more or less the same things and we both want victory."

Trump added that NATO is not doing its job to ensure free passage through the Strait of Hormuz. “We don’t use it, but other countries do,” he said. “ NATO could help us, but so far it hasn’t had the courage to do it.”

Trump has emphasized that it would be good for China and Japan to help secure the Strait of Hormuz.

"We don't use the strait. At a certain point, it will open itself. So it would be good if countries that use the strait, like China and Japan, were involved ," he said.
