From 2021, Serbia is insistently seeking to buy from France 12 multi-functional fighter jets named "Rafale" or as they are otherwise known "Burst of Fire".

This time the deal seems to have been finalized in Paris.

Serbian media write that the cabinet of the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, has met with the French aircraft manufacturer to discuss their purchase.

The estimated value of the 12 fighter jets is up to 3 billion euros. It is about the most modern aircraft of the fourth and a half generation, one of the most modern platforms that Western Europe can offer.

"We will also have the signing of a contract that will significantly improve the security of our country", said Vucic, who added that the contract could be signed in the next two months.

The deal for these fighter jets comes as Vucic has ordered the army to begin the largest training exercise ever seen in Serbia.

Characteristics of "Rafale" or "Fire Blast" aircraft:

Equipped with a wide range of weapons, about 20 such, including missiles, the Rafale is intended to carry out air superiority, interdiction, aerial reconnaissance, ground support, deep strike, anti-ship strike and nuclear deterrence missions.

The French military aircraft, which reaches a speed of over 1,900 kilometers per hour, has a wingspan of 11 meters and a length of 15 meters, has been involved in combat over Afghanistan, Libya, Mali, Iraq and Syria.
