The Israel-Hamas conflict has brought great losses to the 36-year-old from Gaza, Khalil Khader. While he was practicing his profession as an electronic engineer at the Al-Najjar hospital in Rafah, a bomb exploded near his home.

"A powerful bomb exploded. My neighbors were coming to the hospital. So I asked: Where was the bombing? And they told me: "It was around your house." I had to run to the location to check on the family. I tried to call but no one was answering. And as you can see... the whole house was bombed," he told BBC News.

Eleven members of his family were killed, among the victims were his four children, his two sisters, his 70-year-old father, his brother and sister-in-law and their two daughters.

Meanwhile, his wife was seriously injured. She is being treated for burns and other injuries sustained from the house collapse.

"I had dreams for each of my children. Ibrahim was first in his school and I dreamed of seeing him as a doctor one day. Amal was very creative, she loved to draw. And she showed me her drawings. Kinan was very playful – everyone loved him. And he took care of his little sister. He was always there to protect Roza and said: "Don't touch her, she's my baby!" And now they have all disappeared", confesses the 36-year-old in pain.

Khalil is still searching for his sister's body under the rubble.
