The Albanian Archives today remembered the anniversary of the death of one of the Frashëri brothers, Abdyli, offering some interesting details about him.

Among them, the reborn politician, whose name is associated with the famous League of Prizren, had the real name Abdullah.

"On October 11, 1892, Abdyl Frashëri, the son of Halid bey, passed away.

His real name was Abdullah Hysni. He was one of the most important personalities of the National Renaissance. He entered the First Ottoman Parliament in 1877 as a deputy of Ioannina, was elected chairman of the Ioannina Committee, and in December of the same year, was elected chairman of the Istanbul Committee, which was formed to protect the rights of Albanians in the Ottoman Empire. .

Frashëri was one of the main activists of the Assembly of Prizren created to protect the Albanian lands, as a result of the signing of the Treaty of Saint Stephen (1878). He defended the idea of ​​uniting the Albanian territories into one vilayet, within the Ottoman Empire. During the Congress of Berlin, on behalf of the League, together with Mehmet Ali Vrioni, he held meetings with representatives of the Great Powers to protect the rights of Albanians.

In the government led by Ymer Prizreni (1881), Abdyl Frashëri assumed the responsibility of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was arrested in April of this year. In the trial that took place in Prizren, he was sentenced to death, but later this decision was changed to life imprisonment. After serving a three-year sentence in the Prizren fortress prison, he was sent to Ballëkesir and Bandërma with a forced stay. In 1886, he was released on the condition that he not engage in politics and was appointed a member of the Istanbul city council.
