People with handcuffs on their hands, some even on their feet, disembark from a plane in Rinas, accompanied by people in civilian clothes. Who is bringing them to Albania and where are they being sent? Their identities and the reason for this transport remain unclear.

Footage has emerged of several handcuffed people disembarking from a plane belonging to the Croatian company "Trade Air" at Rinas Airport.

They are accompanied by people in civilian clothes, while Albanian Police officers stand near the stairs.

The material provided shows at least five people who appear to be handcuffed, some of them, according to the video footage, even on foot. The civilian escorts walk next to them during the descent and direct them towards the bus that serves for transportation within the airport.

Who are these people, where did they come from, and where are they being sent? So far, no official explanation has been provided that establishes their identity, citizenship, or legal status. It also remains unclear which institution the civilian escorts belong to and which authority organized the transport.

The name “Trade Air” is clearly visible on the fuselage of the aircraft in the photograph. The Croatian company operates charter flights and provides crewed aircraft for other companies. But the name of the carrier does not specify the country from which this flight originated.

A documented fact is that “Trade Air” has previously been used for deportations from Germany. In the official response of the German government to the Bundestag, dated March 19, 2020, the company is listed with 432 people deported by air during 2016. The document proves its involvement in deportation transports, but does not link this data to the people filmed in Rinas.

There are also public recordings of Trade Air flights from Tel Aviv to Tirana, on behalf of Israir. However, without the date of filming and the aircraft registration, it cannot be determined whether the footage relates to any of these trips.

In the tense climate of protests, such images create grounds for suspicion and conspiracy theories. Are they people deported from the US? Were they brought from Israel? Or is it another transfer procedure? None of these hypotheses have been proven in this case. There is also no evidence that the transport is connected to the protests.

The handcuffs themselves do not indicate whether the persons are convicted, extradited or deported for violating immigration rules. This must be clarified by the authorities who administered the arrival. The State Police and the Ministry of Interior must provide concrete answers: what was the flight, where did it depart from, how many people were transported, under what procedure and who took them into custody?

"MaShqip" publishes footage documenting their landing in Rinas. The identity, reason for transport and destination after the airport remain to be revealed./ MaShqip
