From cec balances to bank accounts, SPAK investigates deep pockets of Ilir

SPAK has not requested only copies of the decriminalization form completed by Ilir Meta in the Central Election Commission. In a second paper, as The Si Newspaper learns, the Special Prosecution has asked the CEC for detailed LSI financial balances over the years.

This request relates to the investigation launched by SPAK into Ilir Meta following the escalation of former MP Halit Valteri. Si Newspaper sources say that along with LSI's balance sheets and financial mirrors, audit reports conducted by the Central Election Commission over the years for these balances have also been sought.

These documents have been obtained under allegations that the LSI has not declared to the CEC considerable amounts of money that has been spent in the US for lobbying. Ilir Meta declares that everything is transparent and verifiable in the Us Department of Justice.

But in the escalation handed over by Halit Valteri it is said that LSI has not declared in the CEC a sum of about 200 thousand euros that was spent on lobbying in Washington in 2016. Also, there are also allegations that Ilir Meta and LSI used a Cyprus-registered shell company to conduct lobbying payments in the US in 2017. According to the escalation, the figure paid by the company "Dorelita Limited" amounts to over 600,000 euros.

In addition, SPAK has also turned to second-tier banks for information about LSI accounts in them. Information is required at least from 2010 to 2021. The Special Prosecution urges banks to make detailed data available about the state of accounts at certain time periods, transfers carried out and spills recorded as membership contributions.

Launched from this data, SPAK is investigating Ilir Meta for corruption, while the other investigation relates to the falsification of official documents. The accusation of forgery starts with the fact that in the civil situation, former President Ilir Meta results in the surname 'Metaj', while presidential decrees and other documents that he has signed over the years as a politician and official are under the surname 'Meta'.

For this reason, SPAK initially requested ilir Meta's certificate from the civil situation on 8 August, resulting in a document published by Monica The Great with the surname 'Metaj'. The other request has been submitted to the CEC for the decriminalization form to compare whether the last name is the same on both this form and the civil status certificate. If the name does not match, then the charge of falsifying documents can be formally filed against Ilir Meta./Obtained by The Si Newspaper
