The arrest of Meta seems to be a closed matter, what happens next

The frequent appearance in television interviews of Jala of Ilir Meta, tanned not only by the sun's rays he is receiving in the south, seems a symptom of the shackles that SPAK is doing to him.

The Special Prosecutor's Office has moved forward with the investigation and it is learned that it has requested information from the second level banks for the accounts of LSI in the years for which it is suspected that it lobbied in the USA and did not report them to the CEC.

For this reason, it is only a matter of time before Ilir Meta, perhaps also Petri Vasili and the close associates of the leader of the Freedom Party, are officially charged. But what happens next?

After communicating the charges, the Special Prosecutor's Office will have to take their validity to the Special Court, along with the request for the security measure against Ilir Meta. For this security measure, coercive requirements such as 'house arrest' or 'house arrest' are required in cases where the accused person risks spoiling the evidence, or harming the investigation through pressure, blackmail or buying potential witnesses.

There are witnesses in Meta's file, and based on the former President's rhetoric, which began after Arben Kraja asked the CEC for a copy of the decriminalization form and described the head of SPAK as a "party scoundrel", the Special Prosecutor's Office is not expected to request less than a prison sentence for Meta.

Meanwhile, apart from the accusations related to lobbying in the USA, Meta is also being investigated for falsification of official documentation, a falsification that, if proven by the Special Prosecutor's Office, has extended throughout the five years that the leader of the PL led the Presidency.

Meta appears with the surname "Metaj" in the civil registry, at least according to the certificate published by Monika Kryemadhi, as a response to SPAK's request to the civil registry to learn the real name of the former President.

The accusation of forgery arose from the fact that in all official acts, even when he was President, he signed as Ilir Meta, that is, without the final 'J' in the last name.

In conclusion, Meta is being investigated by SPAK for passive corruption provided for in Article 259 of the Criminal Code, an offense punishable by imprisonment from 3 to 8 years. In addition, Meta is being investigated for the forgery of seals, stamps or forms, provided for in Article 190/3 of the Criminal Code, an offense punishable by 3 to 7 years in prison.

Attached to the criminal complaint are the lobbying contract, the financial report of LSI in 2017, as well as the property declarations of Meta, Kryemadhi and Vasili for 2017, and Ilir Meta's decriminalization form, civil status certificates and legal acts and decrees are attached to the file. that he signed in the Presidency, or other duties that he held in state institutions.
