Former Social Democratic Party candidate for MP, Benard Martini, won the much-debated tender for the restoration of Spaç Prison a few months ago. The works on the cultural monument and the building where thousands of prisoners suffered under the regime were truly scandalous, attempting to cover up the legacy of those who suffered in that infamous prison.

Ironically, the winner of the procedure had strong political connections, as the owner of the winning firm, Benard Martini, was a candidate for deputy. He has declared that he has been prosecuted and convicted several times for various crimes, while a few weeks after this scandal, Martini won another procedure. Again, by the inertia of fate, the institution that gives the tender is a court!

According to documents available to VoxNews, the company "MARTINI CONSTRUCTION & REAL ESTATE" with 100% ownership by Benard Martini has won a tender from the Special Anti-Corruption Court itself, where politicians or other officials appear before the black squads for a variety of crimes.

The object of the tender is "restructuring of four courtrooms (construction works)" with a deadline of 1 month from the date of contract termination. So the same firm that did those scandalous works in Spaç will also restore the courtrooms.

In the tender, Benard Martin's offer was not the lowest. His firm offered 12.6 million lek, or about 130 thousand euros. The firm "RSM COMPANY" offered 11 million lek, but was later disqualified by the Special Court.

But if he is going to do work in an institution of particular importance, does the firm "Martini" or even its owner, Bernard Martini, have security certificates? Are the works he will do safe, considering his past with political connections and prosecution?!

A few weeks ago, VoxNews denounced the works at Spaç Prison, while our editorial team also published the past of the owner of the winning firm. It is learned that Martini himself declared before the CEC that he had a file at the Tirana Prosecutor's Office in 2016.

The first file was for property destruction. The second file, in 2015, also at the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, for "illegal construction." And the third file, in 2009, for "theft."
