The Soldiers' Rest House in Pogradec has become a hotbed for everyone, despite the fact that its function has not changed. Last year's decisions by the General Staff of the Armed Forces have led to a small part of this house being rented. In total, the private company has received only 150 m2 of building and 40 m2 of yard, but from the photos and videos available to VoxNews, the private firm has turned the entire building into its service.

Another violation is the function, as in the lease contract it is quite clearly written that "bar-café and fast food in function of the service of the military and civilian personnel of the 6630 ward". However, not only is the Glacier not for the military, but it is open to everyone. At the entrance of the building it is written "military building, entry is forbidden", but inside the fireplace with music throughout the day has also been opened.

The decision seems to be following the alienation of army properties throughout the country, where sometimes with privatization and sometimes with rent, the properties have been forgiven for very narrow interests. In fact, at very ridiculous prices.

The VoxNews newsroom received several photos and videos of the transformation of this house, exclusive property of the Albanian Army, into a real guesthouse. In fact, the rental price is only 26 thousand new lek per month, a price that does not belong to the market but only to interest.

In the video, it appears that the bar serves foods such as paçe, pilaf or beans. Other food is also served to everyone, and music is also set every night. But if it says "army property" in the introduction, why is it open?!

This is one of those cases where the power of the state is significantly inferior or best serves the interests of private individuals. Although in the documents available to VoxNews it is written that the function is only for staff, the bar is open to anyone.

But, the most scandalous thing is that private individuals use all the space inside and outside the building, despite the fact that 150 buildings and 40 m2 of yards have been written on paper. If in other countries the properties of the army are preserved, inherited or at least taken by those who had them, in this country of ours the interests of statesmen, whether military or civilian, prevail over everything. How can you turn a property into a greenhouse?! Maybe some oligarch has set his sights on it to take it all?

The first step, that of renting and changing the destination, has been taken. We are already waiting for the next steps from the Army or the Ministry of Defense to alienate another property, after those in Lezha, Saranda or Vlora. The place where the Rest House in Pogradec is located is quite in demand. An attempt was made to privatize it a few years ago, but the papers were withdrawn when it was learned that the land had an owner. The first step has already been taken with the lease and its return to the distillery!
