COMPLAINT/ IMT demolishes the legalized premises of "MYSLYM SHYRI",

A strong denunciation has reached the VoxNews editorial office , centered on senior officials of the Territory Protection Inspectorate in the Municipality of Tirana.

The action launched several weeks ago to demolish buildings in public spaces appears to be partially being implemented by the IMT, which destroys and ruins the buildings of ordinary citizens and leaves the premises of its own officials standing.

The complaint concerns the action of Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in the area near Myslym Shyrit Street in Tirana.

Heavy IMT vehicles have continued the action, demolishing several buildings, which were legalized and had proper documentation. However, the scandal deepens because these demolitions are truly selective, casting great doubts that everything is being done "on orders from above."

But if the government has begun action and has warned that it will demolish all constructions that have occupied public spaces, with or without permits, why are the constructions owned by these officials left standing?

Who ordered whom?

Are the leaders of the IMT at the Municipality of Tirana "stronger" than those in the government?

At noon on September 30, IMT's crews continued their action. The images above were taken from the demolitions in the area near Myslym Shyri Street in Tirana and the former "Shqipëria Sot" exhibition.

It is the same action that Prime Minister Edi Rama advertises every day.

But, alongside this praise, IMT itself must explain why it has left some bars standing.

 

"Look at these pictures. These are legalized constructions with proper documentation. It is illegal and we will turn to other bodies," several residents of the area, owners of the constructions, tell VoxNews.

The denunciation continues that the premises that remain standing belong to IMT officials themselves.

"These images were filmed from the premises of an IMT official. The premises and the structure in question are standing, they are not being demolished even though they do not have any permits, and the buildings of ordinary people, which they have built with their hard work and sweat, are being demolished as if nothing had happened. This is selective demolition," the owners have denounced in the VoxNews editorial office.

Meanwhile, according to our editorial team's observations, in many neighborhoods the demolitions have become selective. There have been numerous complaints and reports that the IMT operates with double standards and "one for the mother and one for the stepmother."

Of course, the action must be transparent and the groups must include representatives from several institutions.

Because if they act as they are, the demolitions will be selective. Only the premises of officials or those with strong connections in the judiciary will remain standing.
