The state company for the production of identity cards announces that it has simplified the procedures for their renewal. The application in this case can be made anywhere, regardless of location.

If previously we had to appear in the civil status where we were registered to complete the application for passport renewal, from now on, Albanian citizens can renew their passport at any application point in Albania.

For example, a citizen who is from Vlora is allowed to apply for passport renewal at an application office located in Fier, Gjirokastër or Tirana, depending on his current location.

This announcement was made known by IdentiTek, which is the only state-owned company in Albania that offers the application, production and distribution of biometric documents of Albanian citizens or foreign citizens with permanent or temporary residence in Albania.

It should be noted that the change only applies to the location from where the passport application is made and not to the required documentation, passport production deadlines, withdrawal or validity. This aims to eliminate red tape or to simplify and facilitate the process of obtaining a passport for Albanian citizens whose passports have expired.

In cases of reapplying when the passport has expired, it is enough to buy the coupon at one of the branches of the Albanian Post and to present the identity card and the old passport at one of the application points that are closest to them.
