The state budget has benefited from the price increase for the 13th month with taxes.
In the period January-May this year, the money that citizens pay through taxes increased by 355 million euros compared to a year ago, as much as the government takes from taxpayers in total for 1 month of the year.
In May, revenues from value added tax, excises, national taxes and profit tax increased, but not at the same rate as in other months as April and March, which signals a decline in consumption.
VAT collected in the budget was 23 million euros more than in May last year, but the increase in this tax in April was 32 million euros more and 50 million euros in March.
Excises have increased by 1.3 million euros and national taxes by 2 million euros, while the highest increase after VAT has had social security contributions by 6 million euros more, as an effect of increasing the minimum wage.
If consumption continues to fall, then the private sector would face declining sales, which would have effects on employment and the entire chain of the country's economy./EuroNews Albania
