The number of two-employed who will be forced to meet income near tax at the end of the year will increase by about 15,000 people, according to a proposal made by the Ministry of Finance.
The ministry has nearly a bill lowering the floor limit of the obligation to declare the income of the two employed. Currently, with the law in place the obligation to fill out the annual income statement, the two-employed have a total income of over 166,000 leks. With the proposed change, this low limit is required to 125 thousand leks.
According to the country's tax data, there are about 60-70,000 people who are two-employed. Meanwhile, the obligation to fulfill the tax declaration is proposed to have even persons with additional income from rent, banking interests, utility contracts, or transactions with real estate, but with a value of over 50 thousand leks per year.
For this category, taxes will verify whether all obligations have been paid and if they do not, then they will keep them at the end of the year, or the beginning of the following year.
The bill is in consultation phase, while it is proposed to come into force starting on 1 January next year.
