From July, it is expected that there will be another increase in dairy prices in the country.

Processing companies are struggling to find milk in the country, as production is declining. Lack of milk is created by the increase in the price of nutrients for animals.

Taulant Pupa, administrator of one of the companies in the country, told "Monitor" that from July 1-15, the price of milk bought by farmers will increase again. The reason for the increase in the price of milk from July will be from the increase in the cost of processing animal feed influenced by the increase in oil prices.

"With the start of the new wheat harvest season, the cost of processing animal feed will increase. Prices for tying the straw ball from 50 lek will reach 80 lek, due to the increase in the price of oil. This will affect another increase in the price of milk by the farmer. We are also forced to increase the price of products as a percentage of milk growth. "From January this year we are working with very low profit margins due to rising production costs," he says.

From June 1, another increase in dairy prices was applied in the market. Some operators increased the price 6% to 7%. This year each operator has doubled the prices of dairy products, in the periods March-April-June.

The lack of production has also made it impossible to store milk, where white cheese and kachkaval were produced in the spring months.

"We are in difficulty in finding milk. In these conditions we find it impossible to store milk because there is not. The lack of production started in the spring season. Now in the summer we have empty warehouses. From Serbia, Kosovo and Italy there is no more milk surplus. We are in the conditions that we produce and sell, we can not store. There is no more cow's milk, the sheep is also disappearing. If the price of milk rises again we are forced to raise prices again, but we risk consumption. "Otherwise we will reduce production," another milk processor told Monitor.

From July 1, with the new fiscal package of 2022, the new excise tax on gas will be applied. 6 lek / liter tax will be added that will be borne by the industry.
