The favorable water situation in the Drin Cascade has favored the export of energy from the Albanian Electric Corporation, as several sales procedures have been developed only during the month of November, one of which was finalized on Saturday. According to TV SCAN calculations, a total of 69,200 mWh of energy were sold during November, while the average price at which energy was exported is around 116.5 euros/mWh.
This means that from sales transactions, the Corporation has generated income, in the amount of about 8 million euros. However, this is not the only income provided by the activity of selling energy, as a result of the overproduction of Cascade. This, since during the first 6 months of 2023, a series of tendering procedures were carried out, from which KESH collected 41.5 million euros. Together with November's sales, the generated income amounts to 49.5 million euros.
Energy purchases were made only during the July - October period, but still the bill was not at very high levels, especially in relation to 2022. This situation was also influenced by the prices in the international markets that have gone towards stabilization and pre-crisis levels. , caused by the war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, while this year's figures speak of a favorable situation, on the other hand, they show the dependence of the sector on the weather, because more than 98% of the energy in our country is produced by hydropower plants.
