According to the official figures of INSTAT, in 2022, the labor force in Albania numbers about 1.45 million people, who represent the active population consisting of the employed and unemployed in the country. Referring to the "Regional Statistical Yearbook", the highest rate of participation in the labor force was recorded in Korça district with 69.6%, followed by Elbasan with 69.3% and Berat with 69.1%. The labor force participation rate sheds light on the potential of a country's economy to engage the population in productive activity. On the other hand, the lowest rate of participation in the labor force was registered in the districts of Lezha and Dibra with 53% and 56.5% respectively, while the average for the country is 62.4%.
