A fire has broken out in the Poligoni area, above the military unit in Gërhoti, Gjirokastra, endangering a bee park and its auxiliary facilities.

According to information from the fire service, the flames covered the entire area of ​​the park and spread outside.

The immediate intervention of the Fire Protection and Rescue forces made it possible to isolate the flames and completely extinguish the fire, saving all the beehives.

The fire destroyed a shed used for storing beekeeping materials, but there was no damage to the hives.

It is suspected that the fire was caused by carelessness during the use of smoke for bee control. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have launched investigations to determine the full cause of the incident.
