Today's event in Himare is a serious accident that left a teenager from Tirana and his friend seriously injured.

Police say the accident was caused by two jet ski vehicles during sea sailing.

Four friends from Tirana had entered the sea on two jet-skis when they collided during the manoeuvres. 16-year-old K. J., was seriously wounded in the face and head and was taken by helicopter to Tirana, while the 17-year-old with the initials D.K. was also injured.

It was previously suspected that the injury occurred while jumping from the rock into the sea, but this resulted in false evidence of the 17-year-old U.K., who tried to hide the incident.


Police notification:

Following the investigative actions carried out in the direction of the Prosecution, for the whitening and documentation of the event occurred today, in Llaman, where the citizen K. J., 16, from Tirana was seriously injured and his friend D. K., 17, was also from Tirana, specialists for the Investigation of the Crimes of the Police Commissioner Himarë referred the materials to the Prosecution Office where the criminal proceedings for the U.K. citizen were initiated, 17 years old for the criminal offense "Serious injury by negligent".

Criminal proceedings have also been initiated for the citizen R. P., 56, owner of jet ski floating vehicles, for the criminal offense "Violation of technical rules at work".

Also, the tour operator with the administrator of the citizen R.P., from the Local Directorate for Border and Migration Vlora, was immediately blocked all the jet ski boats.

For safety reasons, the activity with the floating vehicles has been suspended.

The investigation resulted that:

In Llaman, citizens K. J. and D.K., together with citizens U.K. and R.P., 17, from Tirana (four friends with each other) have entered the sea, with 2 jet ski boats.

During the manoeuvres at sea, it is suspected that the two vessels accidentally collided with each other and consequently the driver of one Jet Ski vehicle, citizen K. J. and the passenger, citizen D. K.
Citizen K. J., was transported to Tirana for more specialized medical assistance.

Initially, the citizens U.K. and R.P., as a result of the shock, gave false testimony saying that their two friends were hurt after jumping off the cliff into the sea, but later, during investigations, they have stated the truth.

All investigative actions in relation to this event are directed by the prosecutor and in his direction continues work to fully document this event.
