The media have obtained the file of the former KLA soldier, Dritan Goxhaj, who was arrested on Monday by order of the Specialized Chambers in The Hague.

It is suspected that he has published on social networks secret details from the judicial process of the Specialized Chambers of The Hague, including testimonies, names or personal data of witnesses.

According to the file provided by the journalist Anila Hoxha, "the single judge has concluded that there is a reasonable suspicion that Mr. Goxhaj, at least twice, deliberately revealed what he believed and declared that it was protected non-public information of the witnesses, through a post dated January 1, 2023 on the Facebook page that bears the name Dritan Goxhaj and through the further distribution of Goxhaj's writing on January 2, 2023 in the form of an opinion article that was published at his request on the website of the news agency KosovaPress with headquarters in Kosovo. The information he disclosed included the names, personal details and states of residence of alleged witnesses in the Specialized Chambers proceedings. In Goxhaj's letter, it was also stated that at any time the personal data of other alleged witnesses could be disclosed".

Arrested in Tirana for the purpose of extradition, Goxhaj is suspected of the criminal offenses of obstructing the work of officials and intimidating witnesses under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

His arrest has prompted the reaction of the KLA War Veterans Organization, where its leader, Faton Klinaku, opposes Goxhaj's arrest.

On the other hand, the Special Court has announced that he will be extradited to The Hague.

"Goxhaj will be held in Albania, pending a decision by the Albanian authorities on the transfer of Mr. Goxhaj in the detention facilities of the DHSK in The Hague", it was announced by the Specialized Chambers.

We remind you that Goxhaj is the son of the former deputy chief of staff of the KLA and the well-known colonel from Albania, Dilaver Goxhaj. He voluntarily joined the war in Kosovo and accompanied the American troops in 1999./tch
