Ylli Manjani has reacted after yesterday's scenes in Zvërnec.
"No written law or bylaw prohibits people from going to the beach."
The beach is inalienable public property. So it does not become private. The buildings inland are private property that must be protected and respected. But the beach is public, period!
No guard, policeman, judge, or anything else can stop people from freely passing and sunbathing on the beaches of the Republic of Albania. This is indisputable!
The act of dragging a citizen because he wanted to cross a public beach is banditry. Punishable by every criminal law in the country.
The State Police should arrest private bandits in flagrante delicto and not be satisfied with "criminal proceedings."
Private investment must be protected, without a doubt. But the violent taking of public space and therefore violence against free citizens is punishable. The state police must protect the public and the public in these conditions.
"Each of us was dragged by those private bandits into that macabre scene," he writes.
