Murder of Santiago Malko, the Supreme Court overturns the Appeals Court decision

The Supreme Court decides to overturn the 25-year prison sentence for Blendi Teta, convicted of the murder of former police officer Santiago Malko in August 2019 in Tirana.

According to the Supreme Court, the case will be returned for retrial to the Court of Appeal with another panel of judges.

Blendi Teta was sentenced by the Court of Appeal to 25 years in prison, on charges that he monitored Malko's movements and assisted the perpetrators in his execution.

Also accused by SPAK for this event are: Leonard Duka, Erlis Duka, Ilir Selmani, Oltian Loga, Aleksandër Maxhaku, Fatmir Hyseni (Musai), Dritan Agaj, Xhoni Nica and Elvis Gaçaj.
