The Court of Appeal has upheld the decision for the former policeman Nevaldo Hajdaraj, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murder of Klodian Rasha.
25-year-old Klodian Rasha was shot as he was returning home at midnight on December 8, 2020, after the end of the curfew. In the meantime, Hajdaraj is sentenced to 12 years in prison with an overturned judgment. We remind you that an appeal to the Supreme Court is allowed against this decision.
Hajdaraj, according to the Appeal, intentionally killed the 25-year-old, as the latter ran away disobeying the police order to stop as he had gone outside the curfew that was set at the time due to the pandemic.
The ex-policeman claimed that he shot at Rasha because he suspected that he was armed and felt danger, but this turned out to be untrue, as the young man did not have any illegal items in his hands. The murder of Klodian Rasha brought strong reactions and protests that led to the departure of the Minister of the Interior at the time, Sandër Lleshaj.
