Jorgo Kumaraku, the 48-year-old who violently stole a large amount of money from a store in Saranda and allegedly attempted to have sexual intercourse with the saleswoman, is not an unknown name to the police.

In 2007, he robbed an employee of the "Perla" casino in Saranda by threatening her with a toy gun, an incident for which he was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

In 2008, a cell phone was found in his cell, for which he gave a false statement that a Saranda detention officer had put it in his cell. The latter was arrested but released after Kumaraku's lie was discovered, leading to the latter being sentenced to 6 months in prison.

In September 2013, he raped and robbed an employee of the Admiral casino in Saranda with a toy gun. A day after the Saranda incident, he raped and robbed an employee of a casino at Ura e Lumit in Gjirokastër with a toy gun. 

In May 2021, while a young woman was withdrawing money from an ATM, Kumaraku threatened her with a knife to give him the money or he would kill her.

In July 2023, Kumaraku stole 3 televisions and some personal belongings from tourists at a hotel. The 48-year-old was then 'caught' by tourists.
