The murderer of police officer Klenti Bano 25 years ago in Lushnja, who also attempted to blow up the Roza Haxhiu stadium with explosives, has lost his appeal in an immigration tribunal after he applied to gain asylum in Great Britain.

Maksim Çela, one of Aldo Bare's closest associates, has not had his claims that his life was in danger in Albania and that the Home Office, the British Ministry of Internal Affairs, should grant him asylum ignored.

Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu has the decision issued by the Immigration Appeals Tribunal in London this Friday, which overturned the decision of the First Immigration Tribunal on June 19, 2023.

Under such circumstances, Judge Jeremy Rintoul upheld the Home Office's refusal of asylum.

Maksim Çela's main argument for gaining asylum in the United Kingdom is related to the claim that he could be executed in Albania.

The decision made available by Top Channel includes what Maksim Çela stated to the immigration appeals tribunal last month.

"The families of the Lushnja gang members have been attacked. My brother was able to stay in Albania, he was not targeted, and his wife and daughter had stayed for several years, but had been moved from time to time. They did this because there was no one else to bring me food and things in prison. That is why I did not ask to obtain documents from the Lushnja Police. If I had asked for them, I might not have been able to provide them."

"If you send me back to Albania," Maskim Çela said, "then I will have to stay alone inside like in a bunker, and this is not the life I want."

"The Prime Minister at the time I was convicted was declared Non Grata in America and Great Britain. This shows that even though things in Albania have improved, there is still room to improve security aspects. After the publication of news about me by the British media, the threats against me have increased. In a country where you can bribe a policeman with 50 euros, this means a risk to my life and that protection against me cannot be effective in a country with crime and corruption."

But the immigration tribunal in London concluded that there is no real risk to Maksim Çela's life in Albania, which would allow him to remain in the UK, and thus his deportation does not pose any problem or concern.

He has 21 days to appeal this decision to the Supreme Court.

Discovery of Maxim Key in England

Lushnja Gang member Maksim Çela was sentenced to 25 years in prison by all levels of the judiciary in our country for a series of crimes, including the murder of police officer Klenti Bano on April 14, 2000.

The Sun newspaper, to which Top Channel refers, has been following his arrival since 2023 and has dedicated a long article to how a criminal of Maksim Çela's caliber entered England in April 2023 and applied for asylum.

In the same year, The Sun followed the court hearing when Çela had requested conditional release in an immigration court until his asylum application was considered.

He was being held in a detention center for immigrants who had arrived illegally in England.

Çela's lawyers asked the court to grant anonymity to their client as he feared possible retaliation if his current location was revealed.

The Sun respected the court's decision by publishing an article in April 2023 without details that would lead to the identification of Maksim Çela, including the crimes for which he had been convicted in Albania, as part of one of the most notorious gangs in Albanian criminal history.

But The Sun waged a 23-month court battle, arguing that it was in the public interest to learn of Maksim Çela's name and the crimes committed in Albania.

The largest British tabloid won the court battle by removing Maksim Çela's anonymity, granted in April 2023 by the immigration court.

This development has placed Maksim Çela on the front page of The Sun online newspaper with the headline:

"The sample screams Maska, the Albanian murderer and terrorist free on the streets of the United Kingdom, The Sun's battle to remove anonymity."

The illegal arrival in England of Maksim Çela, a member of the infamous Lushnja gang, has brought back, after 25 years, the brutal dimension of the murder of police officer Klenti Bano.

The Sun newspaper, which revealed Maksim Çela's entry into England with a false passport from Spain in 2023, and then seeking asylum with the argument that his life was in danger in Albania, was able to interview the mother of Klenti Banos.

For the first time after the murder of her son on April 14, 2000 in the city of Lushnja, organized by Enver Dondollaku, Maksim Çela and Dritan Vila, Klenti Bano's mother, former math teacher, Katia Bano, has broken her silence.

In her first story for The Sun, which Top Channel refers to, 77-year-old Bano states that "the murder of her son Klenti Bano was a direct attack on the state."

Asked about the arrival in England of her son's killer, she made this statement to 'The Sun'.

"I am amazed that Maksim Çela managed to enter the UK and that my son's killer is now free there. He deserved life in prison for killing an innocent man who was serving the state and I don't understand why he is tolerated in Britain. It really bothers me to know that he has a new life there and my son is resting in his grave," the 77-year-old said.
