A serious case has been registered in the city of Saranda. A 48-year-old man has been declared wanted after stealing a large amount of money from a store.

Furthermore, it is suspected that he attempted to forcibly perform sexual intercourse on the store's saleswoman, a 26-year-old woman.

According to police information, she suffered physical injuries from this incident.

"Crime Investigation Specialists at the Saranda Police Station referred materials to the Prosecutor's Office and declared citizen JK, 48 years old, wanted, after yesterday, in a shop in neighborhood no. 2, Saranda, it is suspected that under the threat of a cutting tool (knife), he forcibly stole an amount of 60,000 lek from the shop assistant, 26 years old, who as a result suffered physical injuries. It is also suspected that he attempted to have sexual intercourse with her by force," the police announced.

Authorities say intensive work is continuing to locate and capture the suspected perpetrator.
