In his speech to MPs and ministers in Tirana, Prime Minister Edi Rama also spoke about the drinking water problem in Tirana. He warned of interventions in the capital's water supply system.

"Even from the survey in Tirana, it is clear that the majority of citizens are concerned about issues that require addressing and solutions from the Municipality of Tirana. Starting with drinking water, which has become a problem like never before in this period. It is a problem of mismanagement and we will intervene in the water supply of Tirana."

Rama said that a public company will be created regarding the supply of drinking water.

"We will intervene again in the Tirana water supply, and publicly with a deeper and more comprehensive reform, it has begun to come to life, as we have presented, towards the creation of a National Operator, which will function similarly to the National Electricity Distribution Operator, with the distribution component, and the government will no longer stand aside waiting and hoping that the municipalities provide quality service to citizens, but must join them, because the municipalities will undoubtedly be shareholders in this large public company.

But it will bear full responsibility for this process, which has taken a long time, to be honest, to reach the appropriate levels throughout the territory, based on often unsatisfactory decision-making at the local level.

"We will create a public company which, like in the energy field, will function differently, with human resources that will not be party resources, but sources of vital professional competence," said Rama.
