Bujar Iiku's body is repatriated on Tuesday, later the official burial

The lifeless body of former President Bujar Iiis is expected to arrive in Albania on Tuesday.

After his death on Saturday at the Berlin University Hospital, Charite, medical staff and relatives of the deceased are dealing with special procedures that enable the repatriation of the body of the former President of the Republic back home.

The former President will be conveyed to the last residence through an official ceremony. The Council of Ministers is expected to make a special decision to pay the former head of state the latest honours.

Bujar Iii changed his life while being cured at the Charite University Hospital in Berlin. His health deteriorated due to pronounced polmonary insufficiency, which also resulted in his death on Saturday.

The former President's health status deteriorated after infection with Covid. He passed the infection, but the effects of the virus caused other problems, which also claimed his life.
