Three stopped for arson in Vlora, one threw the tail of a cigarette and burned

The police of Vlora have arrested one person and prosecuted two others for arson in three different cases. Two of the detainees are residents of villages, who are accused of starting fires causing the burning of large areas of bushes and forests.

Also, a 34-year-old man has been prosecuted after it is suspected that he negligently threw the tail of a cigarette, causing a fire that burned 30 olive roots.

The police appeals not to start fires for any reason and calls on citizens to immediately notify of any case of arson.

Police Notification:

1 citizen is detained and 2 others are prosecuted, for 3 cases of arson, respectively in Lukovo, Bolena and Tragjas.

Lukovo/A 43-year-old man who caused a fire by carelessly throwing a cigarette on the ground is detained.

Specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Himara Police Station made the detention for the criminal offenses "Destruction by negligent fire of forests and forest environment" and "Destruction of property by negligence", for the citizen BA, 43 years old, resident of the village of Lukovo. From the investigative actions, it is suspected that this citizen, on 10.08.2025, in the place called "Lapardha", after consuming cigarettes, threw it on the ground and by carelessness caused a fire, where as a result of the spread of flames, 30 olive roots were burned, as well as a land area with bushes and thorns.

Bolene/A 34-year-old man is being prosecuted, suspected of burning a land area with bushes, vegetation and pines.

From the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Himarë Police Station, after the investigative actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office and criminal proceedings were initiated for the criminal offense "Destruction by negligent fire of forests and forest environment", for the citizen ET, 34 years old, resident of the village of Bolenë. This citizen is suspected that on 09.08.2025, near the village cemetery, he started a fire for cleaning the pasture he was using and as a result of the spread of the flames, an area with bushes, thorns and some pine trees was burned.

Tragjas/A 58-year-old man is being prosecuted, suspected of burning a surface of land with vegetation.

The Specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Orikum Police Station referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and started criminal proceedings for the criminal offense "Destruction of property by fire", for the citizen G. Gj., 58 years old, resident of the village of Tragjas. This citizen is suspected of being the author of the arson dated 08.08.2025, in the village of Tragjas, where an area of vegetation was burned.

The procedural materials for these cases were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.

The Vlora Local Police Directorate appeals to all citizens not to start fires for any reason, including negligence, as they will face the law.
