Two private guards from the company 'Major Security', Artur Grami and Gazmend Vathi, have appeared before the Vlora court, following the violence inflicted on protesters in the Zvërnec area.
It is reported that the Court has imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on them.
The two bodyguards raped protesters during the protest against the project in Zvërnec. Earlier, Geraldo Biba, an employee of "Major Security", was also left in prison, accused of raping the protester.
We recall that a few days ago, a protest took place in the village of Zvërnec against a tourist project being built near the protected area of the Narta lagoon.
Residents, environmental activists, and civil society representatives opposed the works, claiming that the ecosystem and an area of special natural importance are being damaged.
During the protest, there were clashes between protesters and private security guards contracted to provide security at the construction site. Footage published in the media showed masked private security guards using pepper spray and physical violence against some protesters.
One protester was dragged away by guards, while a woman reportedly fainted during the tensions. Following strong public reactions, police launched investigations into two private security guards, and one of them was arrested .
