The Italian authorities have arrested an Albanian couple, after breaking the "house arrest" security measure that was assigned to them after being convicted of drug trafficking. They tried to escape to Albania.

But after the cooperation between the Italian and Albanian authorities, it became possible to extradite the 26-year-old Albanian against whom an arrest warrant was issued by Europol.

The 26-year-old man was left in custody, while the 25-year-old girl was also arrested in the port of Ancona. Thanks to the information received by the investigators, the police have been placed on the trail of the 25-year-old, making it possible to arrest her yesterday morning at the port of Ancona, where she had just arrived in Italy.

The agents of the police station of Tifernate, in cooperation with the team of the police station of Ancona, after identifying the woman, escorted her to her apartment in Umbertide for the application of the measure of house arrest. They have also fitted her with an electronic bracelet to enable electronic identification in case of escape.
