The Special Prosecution Office has questioned businessman Alban Eftimi , as part of the ongoing investigations against Belinda Balluku.
The businessman of the company "Atelier 4" appeared this Thursday at the Prosecutor's Office premises to give his testimony to investigators.
Eftimi's questioning comes after inspections carried out at the end of July at the premises of the company "Atelier 4", where investigators seized various documents and materials.
According to information, the seized materials are suspected to be related to the furnishing of a luxury villa in the south of the country. The documentation is being reviewed by prosecutors and is being compared with other data and evidence collected during the investigation.
At the center of the verifications is a villa in Dhërmi, which was previously seized by the authorities. Investigators are verifying suspicions that the property may be undeclared assets and whether it has any connection to Belinda Balluku.
The investigation into the former deputy prime minister includes suspicions of corruption and money laundering, while SPAK is also verifying other circumstances that may be related to her assets and activities.
Meanwhile, Belinda Balluku is also a defendant in another criminal case, where she is accused of violating the equality of participants in tenders or public auctions. This case is related to the procedures for the construction of the Llogara tunnel and the lots of the Tirana Outer Ring Road.
