Erion Veliaj's legal representatives have stated that none of the 6 phones found and seized in Durrës Prison belong to the mayor of Tirana.

"Regarding the news published in some media outlets about the discovery of five mobile phones during a search at the Durrës Penitentiary Institution, where Mr. Erion Veliaj is also being held, we clarify that none of the mobile phones found belong to Mr. Veliaj and none of them were found in his room, possession or personal belongings.

"Consequently, any information or insinuation that could link Mr. Veliaj to the found devices is false and unfounded," the statement from Veliaj's legal representatives reads.

Six phones were found during a search of the institution's premises. It is learned that five of the phones were turned on, while another was turned off. The devices were found in the common areas, in the gym area.
