Two police officers at the Qafë Thanë Border Crossing Point, 2 customs officers and 3 citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto by the AMP for the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty", "Active / passive corruption" and "Smuggling of other goods".

The three persons identified with the initials JH, BH and FG, were caught red-handed while traveling with various vehicles from the services entering the territory of the Republic of Albania, transporting smuggled food goods from the Border Crossing Point "Qafë Thanë", avoiding customs duties.

The investigation showed that the police officers of the Qafë Thanë Border Crossing Point in cooperation with the customs officers, in exchange for a large sum of money, favored three persons in crossing the smuggled goods without carrying out the customs clearance procedure.

For this reason, AMP in cooperation with DVP Korça, under the direction of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance Pogradec made the arrest in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty", "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" for:

- Inspector AH, 43 years old, Assistant / Control Specialist at BCP Qafë Thanë.

- Inspector FM, 38 years old, Service Corps at BCP Qafë Thanë.

- VB, 53 years old, acting Customs Officer, at the Customs Branch Qafë Thanë

- SW, 45 years old, acting Customs Officer, at the Customs Branch Qafë Thanë

Also, following the preliminary investigative actions, three persons were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses "Smuggling of other goods" and "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions":

- JH, 37 years old, resident in Librazhd

- BH, 38 years old, resident in Librazhd

- FG, 22 years old, resident of Librazhd

As material evidence, 3 vehicles, 9 mobile phones, quantities of monetary values ​​illegally obtained from the activity of smuggling in the workplace, a significant amount of various food and beverages, as well as other goods were seized.
