An elderly couple passed away last night at their apartment in Tirana.

It was the nephew who found the grandparents without signs of life in the apartment.

According to the police, 80-year-old Safet Meçaj, 80, committed suicide, while his wife Arta Meçaj, 80, died as a result of cardiac arrest.

The event shocked family members. In a touching post, a relative writes about the love of two elderly people, saying that they could not stay without each other, as they separated from life at the same time.
