Albanian caught trying to steal a restaurant in Rome

An Albanian citizen, 45 years old, has been arrested by Italian police in Rome, after he was caught trying to commit a robbery at a restaurant in the 'Casal de' Pazzi' area. The incident happened after the bar's alarm, connected to the police security system, was activated and immediately notified the law enforcement forces.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a person inside the premises who was trying to open the cash register to get the money. He had entered through the back door, which he had damaged to provide access. Near the entrance, a handcart filled with bottles of wine and other alcoholic beverages, which were allegedly prepared to be stolen, was also found.

The suspect tried to run away, but was stopped after a short chase. He was arrested on charges of aggravated theft and is currently in custody, after the measure of arrest was confirmed by the judge of preliminary investigations, at the request of the prosecution.
