The Kruja police have handcuffed a 48-year-old man with a significant criminal record who distributed money for electoral purposes. As material evidence, 69,000 new ALL, 50 euros and 2 electoral lists with names of citizens were seized.

"Following the implementation of the measures taken by the State Police, to guarantee order and security throughout the electoral process, as well as to prevent, identify and combat electoral crimes, the investigative structures of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with those of the Krujë Police Station, thanks to information intelligence, have identified and attacked a case of money distribution, with the aim of buying votes.

The Police Services, based on the information provided, located on the street of the "Abaze" neighborhood, Krujë, and blocked the "Volkswagen Touareg" type vehicle that was driven by the citizen BM

During the control of this vehicle, carried out in the presence of the citizen BM, the Police services found and seized as material evidence, the sums of 69,000 new leks and 50 euros, as well as a list of voters in the administrative unit of Cudhi, Krujë, a list in which the names of voters who were allegedly given money in exchange for voting in favor of the mayoral candidate of a political entity were circled, as well as a note with 3 polling stations, in Cudhi, Krujë.

At the end of the first procedural actions, conducted at the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, the crime investigation specialists of the Krujë Police Station arrested in the act the citizen BM, 48 years old, resident of the village of Halil, Krujë, previously convicted for the criminal offense "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".

The first investigative materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office, for further actions, for the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections" , the police announced.
