The court of Lezha has sentenced to 2 years and 10 months in prison the former policeman Jeton Lami, who was accompanying Ervis Martinaj before the latter disappeared.
Due to the shortened trial, Jeton Lam's sentence is reduced by 1/3.
The former officer of Operacionale was arrested after the disappearance of the much-wanted Ervis Martinaj, while Martinaj's family members raised the alarm.
Jeton Lami broke his silence a few months ago by giving some explanations regarding the company of Ervis Martinaj, but has refused to know about his disappearance.
He says that he knew Martinaj 10 years ago, but emphasizes that he had no friendship or close relationship.
"I knew Ervis Martinaj 10 years ago. I didn't have any friendship or close relationship with him. However, three days before accompanying him to Durrës, I met him by chance at a place in Zogu i Zi. He asked me to accompany him", he declared.
Ervis Martinaj was an international wanted person, after Nuredin Dumani accused him of having promised 500 thousand euros to execute his rival Endrit Dokle, when the family denounced the loss of contact with him.
