The Fiks Fare show returns to the issue of monopaths and food delivery engines, which continue to be a disturbing problem in circulation.
They have become a source of accidents and a great concern for pedestrians and drivers in the capital.
From the observation that Fiks Fare made on the streets of Tirana, he saw that the majority of scooters are driven by minors, who also drive in the opposite direction.
Most of them do not have a driving license and do not know the traffic code or road signs, which creates precedents for accidents. The same situation, and often even more aggravating, occurs with engines that distribute food. They get into traffic badly, violate the permitted speed limit. There are no shortage of cases in which traffic lights are violated. Although this is the number of times that Fiksi treats it as a problem, no safety or awareness measures have been taken yet.
If you look at the statistics of road accidents from 2023 until now, they have increased by 90% in the category of skateboards. Who have no security measure. They are without spacesuits, phosphorescent clothing, etc.
In order to touch the problem even more closely, Fiki asked the National Emergency how much these cases have increased. The head Skender Brataj himself claimed that the statistics have increased by a frightening number in terms of the year 2024 and calls on the leaders to be careful, since according to him, at these rates, the situation could degrade to fatal.
The same opinion is also the specialist of Tirana's Road Traffic, Gerhard Baka. He told Fiksi that they also found the problem, that scooters are driven by minors and often there are two people, but that they do not have the right to take any measures for this category of vehicles since there is no draft for drivers of this category. So the drivers of skateboards cannot be sanctioned. The draft is in the process, says Mr. Baka, but currently it has not been approved yet. The only thing we can do, he says for Fiks Fare, is to raise the awareness of these drivers, "First of all, take care of themselves, and then also of others," concludes the traffic specialist.
