New details come to light from the investigations into the murder of Palestinian  Rayyan Alwan , who was killed by her father, Fadi Alwan , in Tirana.

German authorities, in their response to Albanian authorities, indicate that the suspected motive behind the murder of the 24-year-old is a matter of honor, as it is suspected that the family was under pressure due to the existence of a video in which their daughter appeared naked.

On February 26, 1 day before her 24-year-old daughter was found dead in a rented house in Tirana, her mother filed a criminal complaint for extortion in Germany over this video.

According to Rayyan's mother, since December 2024, she had given her daughter money several times to pay the blackmailer who had obtained the video, and the girl, without her mother's presence, sent the money through transfer companies to meet the blackmailer's demands.

However, in the report, Rayyan's mother does not rule out the possibility that her daughter herself was behind the blackmail.

According to her, Rayyan had flown to Albania with her father Fadi Alwan, who does not live with her mother, on February 19, 2025.

There, it is alleged that the daughter showed the video to her father and the mother claimed that a disagreement had arisen between the father and daughter, just a verbal disagreement.

In another complaint filed by Rayyan Alwan on January 3, 2024, she claimed at the time that her family, her mother, father, and two brothers, had been threatening her with death for some time because of her desire for a free and Western life.

She also told German authorities in her complaint at the time that she had been divorced for three years, that her ex-husband and children together supposedly lived in Lebanon.

No further complaints of threats from family members have been made in Berlin.
